The Super 109 adjustable model was produced from 1968 to 1988.

Date codes from N3 to I2.

Height: 109 mm, from the knob to the head.
Weight: 69 grams (model with back metal plate) and 58 grams (back plastic plate).

Nickel plated.

The two black painted pieces of the handle are made of aluminium (not plastic, as many users think).
The rest of the pieces are made of brass, with a very good nickel plating.

The Q letter was not used on 1971, because of the similitude with the letter O, and there is an special code for 1971, with R-1, R-2, R-3 and R-4. But there are Q-1 and R-R codes too the same year.
R-R code razors are not so usual as Q-1.

The metal base plate model was produced from 1968 to 1976.

Date codes from N3 to W4.

Between 1977 and 1981 (X1-B4) the handle has a vertical knurling.
Between 1982 and 1988 (C1-I2) the handle has a diamond knurling.

Weight: 58 grams.

VIOLET DIAMOND HANDLE

 

Model produced from 1981 to ¿1988?.

Date codes from B4 to I2 (last year of Gillette double edge razors).
But it is not sure that there has been produced this type of models every year.
Some codes found are B4, C2.

On 1981 (code B4) we can find two types of handles, the black with vertical knurling, and the violet with diamond knurling.

Aluminium handle.
Black plastic base plate.

The change on this model is the diamond knurling on the handle, on violet color, and the plastic plate.

SUPER 84 ADJUSTABLE (short handle)

 

The short handle model was produced from 1968 to 1976.

Height: 84 mm, from the knob to the head.
Weight: 69 grams.

Nickel plated.
Aluminium handle.
Metal base plate

The weight of this model is almost the same as the 109 (long handle metal base plate) because the handle is made of aluminium, and the only different piece is the upper part of the handle, just 25 mm shorter, less than 1 gram. All of the internal mechanisms are extacly the same, weight and longitude.
