The Black Neon is a good alternative to the more sensitive Neon Tetra and is a hardy and adaptable aquarium fish. Keep in groups and provide areas of cover in aquaria with well filtered water. The fish are peaceful and shoaling but may nip at long finned species. Although the Black Neon will adapt easily to harder water, they are best kept and may live longer in soft to medium conditions.
