It's been months since Verizon and HTC first showed off the Droid Incredible 4G LTE, the slightly less exciting take on HTC's One series — but we now finally know when it'll be available. It's been months since Verizon and HTC first showed off the Droid Incredible 4G LTE, the slightly less exciting take on HTC's One series — but we now finally know when it'll be available. Verizon just announced that the Droid Incredible 4G LTE will be available as of July 5th for $149.99, after a $50 mail-in rebate and a new two-year contract. Those with long memories will recall that this phone was first announced way back at CTIA in May, but with no pricing or release date. More recently, HTC teased the Incredible's imminent launch on Twitter, and now users who want to buy an Android phone running Ice Cream Sandwich out of the box finally have another option besides the Galaxy Nexus — of course, the Galaxy S III won't be far behind.

While this phone's software should be nearly identical to HTC's One series phones on T-Mobile, AT&T, and Sprint, there's a few differences in the hardware. Most notably, the screen is "only" four inches, compared to the larger screens on HTC's other new smartphones. It does contain the strong 8-megapixel shooter on the One S and One X; though Verizon's press release makes no mention of the ImageSense camera optimization software that HTC touts in its One series, we'd be surprised if it isn't on board when the phone launches. The other big change from the One series is the body's styling — Verizon's Droid Incredible devices have long had a fairly distinctive style and oddly leveled back, and the latest offering is no different. While we'd prefer the looks of the One S or One X ourselves, the Droid Incredible 4G LTE should be a good option for Verizon customers who want a slightly smaller phone.
