JAMES McCaffrey has died at the age of 65 after a battle with multiple myeloma cancer.
The actor was known for voicing the popular video game character Max Payne.

James died on Sunday at the age of 65 while surrounded by family and friends after losing his battle with cancer.
The late star's rep told TMZ that he was "One of Dick Wolf's proteges (Swift Justice)."
"McCaffrey went on to a successful 35-year career in television and film," they claimed.
"Trained at the Actor's Studio, he never lost his love for creating characters; however, his good looks often pushed him toward leading man roles."

James' friend and Entourage star Kevin Dillon shared a photo and a message in honor of his lost friend on social media.
"James McCaffrey we were lucky to have known you. my best friend you will be missed," the actor wrote.
McCaffrey is survived by his wife Rochelle Bostrom and daughter Tiernan.

The career actor famously appeared as Jimmy Keefe in Rescue Me for 56 episodes between 2004 and 2011.

James garnered praise for the role through his steely and tough delivery.
After his success with Max Payne, he continued to voice many other video game characters.
