The Tourist continues to twist and turn towards an unguessable destination, with Jamie Dornan and Danielle Macdonald's palpable performances making the journey wholly worthwhile along the way.

Matthew Gilbert Boston Globe I found the first season compelling, if a bit unnecessarily twisty... Amnesia is a TV drama cliché, but “The Tourist” gives it some punch. Feb 28, 2024 Full Review Kayleigh Dray AV Club On paper, The Tourist season two sounds like it just doesn’t work. Yet somehow, it does. It’s a bit like one of those Magic Eye pictures; you have to actively ignore the finer details to make it all make sense. Rated: B+ Feb 26, 2024 Full Review Randy Myers San Jose Mercury News While “The Tourist” samples from the same trough as “Fargo” and even, at times, “Pulp Fiction,” it’s still a hog-heaven meal all to its own thanks in large part to Dornan and Macdonald. Rated: 3/4 Feb 1, 2024 Full Review Kate Bove Screen Rant While it doesn't recapture season 1's singular magic, The Tourist season 2 is a compelling thrill ride thanks to Jamie Dornan & Danielle Macdonald. Rated: 3/5 Apr 3, 2024 Full Review Chris Joyce Movies and Munchies (YouTube) The narrative is heavy with complexities but manages to keep the storylines clear, making them collide for an exciting and tense climax. Rated: 4/5 Mar 5, 2024 Full Review Sarah Ward Concrete Playground Some on-screen collaborations simply demand more opportunities to keep shining, and Dornan with Macdonald is one of them. Stefan K It's hard to understand the quite negative reviews of this second season. The acting (all except I think Fergal) is top notch. The cinematography is top drawer and the writing is pretty good. Storyline is a bit too contrived (all the inter feuding family liaisons and sexual intimacy.) but not really that off putting. The acting carries the day with a pretty believable story line. That's enough for me. Found the second season engrossing and well paced. Especially love the tall dark handsome leading man romance with the tall but quite portly female lead. Breaking stereotypes with their relationship, actual kisses on screen! made this season even more successful. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 05/01/24 Full Review Glenn C An echo of the great first season. Lost its way at some point and just doesn't work anymore. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 04/26/24 Full Review Kim W Tenuous attempts at continuity from the first, much better, season. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 04/21/24 Full Review Audience Member Jamie is a good actor, sadly next to Danielle, two very different acting abilities. And, there's no chemistry whatsoever between them & the fact they were a couple was very unconvincing and unbelievable. Would have been better to have kept Luci alive and sent her to Ireland. Luci as his love interest would have worked as they had some chemistry. Only got halfway through episode 1 and found something else to watch. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 04/10/24 Full Review Rebecca H This season could have been better. The two main characters have NO chemistry. It's bad enough that I couldn't stand their scenes. They also made her regurgitate all of her dialogue in Season 1. And then he repeated himself so often in this season. Also in every perilous situation she had a million chances to escape and just wouldn't. The whole season was frustrating. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 04/06/24 Full Review Leta S I enjoyed the acting of both actors, but the love interest is just hard to watch. What is with shows lately and the terrible love partners that are just ridiculous. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 04/03/24 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
