Petra Ecclestone's wedding to businessman James Stunt was nothing short of lavish.
Bernie Ecclestone's daughter would be celebrating her ninth wedding anniversary tomorrow if they hadn't gone their separate ways.
The pair tied the knot in a lavish £4 million ceremony on August 27, 2011, but went on to split six years later.
And it wasn't always amicable, with the exes taking a few public swipes at each other.
Tamara's little sister Petra, 31, and James, 38, spared no expense when they got married.
They said 'I do' at the 15th century Odescalschi Castle in Rome, the same place that Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes tied the knot back in 2006.
It reportedly costs a whopping £310,000 just to hire the venue.
But it's thought that Petra shelled out a further £2.6m to book Black Eyed Peas star Fergie and singer Alicia Keys to perform at the reception, followed by a DJ set from David Guetta.
Petra and her dad, former F1 boss Bernie, were pictured sitting in a vintage Rolls Royce in central Rome ahead of the ceremony, with Bernie casually sticking his fingers up at the photographer while his daughter smiled next to him.
A string of celebrities were invited along to the big day, with fellow heiress Paris Hilton and her sister Nicky as well as Scream star David Arquette among those to make an appearance.
Duchess Sarah Ferguson was also there with her daughter, Princess Beatrice, with the royal duo wearing matching pink dresses to watch the nuptials.
Petra dressed for her special day in a traditional white strapless Vera Wang gown worth £150,000 and wore her hair in loose tousled waves, with a tiara and veil perfectly in place.
Tamara acted as her sister's maid of honour and James was joined at the alter by a string of groomsmen, with them all dressed in matching fancy suits.
It's said the 300 guests at the bash sipped on endless supplies of Cristal champagne, which costs £500 a bottle, and tucked into caviar canapes, before dining on calamari, spinach ravioli, lamb chops and chocolate pudding with ice cream.
One guest said: "It was the most fantastic setting. Our menus were customised mirrors with our names etched into them. It was easily the most decadent pre-wedding dinner any of us had been to.
"Then Alicia came on and sang all of her hits. She began with Empire State of Mind and everybody was singing along. We couldn’t believe it – it was magical."
The pair went on to welcome children Lavinia, seven, and twins James Jr and Andrew, five, but sadly, the fairytale was not to last and Petra and James divorced in 2017.
They were granted a divorce by the High Court after reaching an agreement with each other following their battle over the family's £5.5 billion fortune.
James said at the time: "I am devastated that my marriage has broken down.
"I love Petra and our children and I hope the Press respect our privacy now as we carry out our most important responsibility of being mother and father to our wonderful children."
A spokesman added: "It is announced, with regret, that James Stunt and Petra Ecclestone have agreed to divorce and that Decree Nisi, uncontested, was granted by HHJ Tolson this morning.
"James is committed to remaining firm friends with Petra and is concerned that the misleading media coverage of their divorce has not accurately reflected the issues which were in dispute."
Things weren't always so amicable though.
In 2018, Tamara and Bernie hit back at James after he gave a tell-all interview in which he claimed he "lost his public standing" by marrying a "C-list celebrity's daughter".
James dubbed his former in-laws Bernie and Slavica "that dwarf" and "Lady Macbeth" in the scathing interview with Tatler magazine.
Bernie later hit back, telling MailOnline : "He got heavily into drugs and that has changed him and they have taken their toll. It is a great shame as James was a nice man when he got married.
"I hope he stands out as an example to young people who can see the damage that drugs can do."
On being labelled "that dwarf", Bernie added: "He can say what he likes as every man is entitled to their own opinion, and if that is his opinion of men that is good.
"But it is a pity that he is like that. He was a nice guy when he got married."
Tamara also hit out at James on her Instagram account, slamming him for making his negative comments on his daughter's birthday of all days.
She posted: "What kind of "man" does this on his daughter's birthday? Unless he stops telling lies about my family we will have to start telling the truth about him."
James admitted during his interview that he was still a big gambler and that he was "rich as ever", but said that he'd got his £5m-a-night gambling losses down to just £20,000.
He said Petra was the "best girl" he'd ever met, but that she's since become "this girl who’s had a lobotomy and gone to Jonestown. This is a horrible human being".
He also opened up about his struggles with addiction to morphine and Valium in the months after moving to Los Angeles with Petra after their wedding.
He said he thought the pills were fine because they'd come from a doctor and admitted his "addictive personality" saw him "taking them like Smarties".
He said he had no hard feelings against Bernie for branding him an "idiot".
Petra's new fiancé Sam Palmer famously branded him "James Stunt, the c***" in 2019.
He slammed his partner's ex as he was spotted leaving a dinner date with Petra.
Classic car dealer Sam, who shares a daughter with Petra, shouted the obscenity at waiting photographers, in reference to her ex.
Concerned that snappers hadn't heard his cutting remarks, Sam asked them: "Did you get that?"
To make sure, he repeated: "James Stunt, the c***" before getting into his car, with Petra telling him: "Sam, shut up."
Earlier this year, Sam went as far as to challenge James to a fight in an attempt to finally put an end to their feud, and raise cash for the NHS.
He said he would donate £30,000 to the NHS in return for a "no holds barred street fight" with James.
The 36-year-old said in an Instagram Live video that he was sick of being "attacked and followed" online by James and his "army".
He said in the shocking video: "I'm sick to death of the abuse that Petra's ex-husband and his army (I say army, it's about four people) just throw constantly at us! I've tried to be the bigger man and ignore it and not give him the energy, because that's what he wants, but to be honest I'm just sick of it!"
He added: "Let's have a fight for charity. I'll give £30,000 to the NHS and you can match it because you're a billionaire. There's no football so we can sell live streams. We can do what you want, UFC, head guards. I'd prefer a no holds barred street fight. Let's go all out - you smash me to pieces, I'll smash you to pieces."
He went on: "I'll provide you with security. I can get hold of a couple of coronavirus tests so I can do them on you on the morning of the fight to make sure you're healthy, because last time I saw you you weren't looking too good.
"We'll live stream it from the garden. I f**king hate you so I'm looking forward to smashing you to pieces."
James appeared to respond to the video when he posted on his account: "I am ignoring the immature goading of others. I love my friends and followers very much"
The week before, Petra had addressed her ex during a Q&A session on her own account.
She hit out at him, saying she was "fed up staying quiet listening to my ex tell lies".
She added: "Thought it was time to speak up. Sadly it hasn't stopped him and he just gets worse by the day."
