Miley Cyrus Recovers From Her Recent Flop With An Exciting Collaboration

Following

Miley Cyrus has released two new songs so far in 2024. One of them has turned out to be a very quick hit, while the other underperformed and quickly disappeared. Thankfully, the bigger of the two came second, so it will help correct her trajectory as she looks ahead to her next chapter.

The pop superstar is back inside the top 10 on the Hot 100 this week. Cyrus joined Beyoncé on the song “II Most Wanted,” which is featured on her latest album Cowboy Carter. That tune opens at No. 6 on the chart, marking her thirteenth career placement in the highest tier on the tally.

“II Most Wanted” stands out as the top debut on the Hot 100 this week. Cyrus and Beyoncé are responsible for the highest-climbing new entrant on the ranking of the most-consumed songs in the U.S., thanks, perhaps, to the fact that they are two of the biggest stars in music. Anytime two powerhouses collaborate on one cut, it’s surely going to attract a lot of attention, which is exactly what happened.

Cyrus last appeared on the Hot 100 a little less than a month ago. She teamed up with Pharrell for the song “Doctor (Work It Out),” though sadly, that cut was not a real commercial success.

“Doctor (Work It Out)” debuted and peaked at No. 74 on the Hot 100. It only lived on the chart for one week before falling away, and it doesn’t appear to have made any real mark on other rankings.

Cyrus’ flop was surprising, as she was hotter than she had been in a long time when the tune came out. “Doctor (Work It Out)” arrived shortly after the singer won her first two Grammys, including Record of the Year, which is often considered the top prize. She accepted a pair of trophies on stage, both for her hit “Flowers,” which she also performed during the telecast.

“Doctor (Work It Out)” should have been a bigger hit, but it ended up being a real disappointment. She’s now changed the story, thanks to the immediate success of “II Most Wanted,” the biggest new song on Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter.
