Origami folds and pleats met elegant, sophisticated cutting and a Quality Street palette

The look Origami folds and pleats met elegant, sophisticated cutting and a Quality Street palette.

Key pieces A grass-green jacket and skirt was the key look in this highly accomplished collection as Antonio Berardi showed off his technical cutting skills. The jacket was rich with sumptuous folds and gave the aviator jacket silhouette a new, clean direction. A collarless neckline finished the jacket, while the endless, heavy pleats gave the short skirt an exciting dimension. Gowns with excruciatingly high front splits worked well next to little skater dresses and long, sweeping full-front, high-neck gowns. A gothic twist came via black lace panelling, while a white punctured coat in oversized proportions had a sports-luxe direction.

Commercial appeal It is likely that pleats and folds and reams of fabric will become a fixture on the autumn 11 trend calendar.
