Russian Constructivism

Red and Diagonal: The Inspiration of Alexander Rodchenko
In my poster, I have represented the classic style of constuctivism as rendered by Alexander Rodchenko. The image of myself is a depiction of a photograph done by Rodchenko, although in my research, some say the original is a picture of him, others say not – however, I have still decided to emulate this work as it is Rodchenko’s. In the eyepiece, I have displayed my initials the way I do them on a regular basis. In the lower corner of my photo, I have also put my initials in type as to imitate the original photo. In the center of the poster I have included the word LOOK! as spelled in actual Russian. As for the block text, I have used a font type similar to Russian in looks with its blocky-ness, but I decided to keep the actual text in the English alphabet. The use of arrows appear in many of the posters done by Rodchenko, as of course the dominance of reds and blacks.
