If watching “Daddy’s Home 2” has left you wanting more Mark Wahlberg in your life, we’ve got good news. Paramount Pictures is moving forward with its latest Wahlberg comedy, “Instant Family,” with Australian-born actress Rose Byrne signing on to star alongside the Dorchester-bred actor.

In the flick, Byrne and Wahlberg will get cozy, playing a couple that decides to open their hearts and adopt a few foster children. However, they get more than they bargained for out of the rambunctious bunch, and chaos ensues in their household of three crazy kids.

Wahlberg signed on for “Instant Family” in September. No doubt, the fact that the upcoming comedy will be directed by Sean Anders, the same man behind “Daddy’s Home” and its recent sequel, was a force pulling the actor aboard.

You may remember Byrne from funny flicks “Bridesmaids,” “Neighbors” and “Spy.” More recently, you can catch the actress in HBO’s movie “The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks,” alongside Renee Elise Goldsberry, Sylvia Grace Crim, Reed Birney and Oprah Winfrey.

Byrne was also one of the stars of Louis C.K.’s film “I Love You, Daddy,” along with Chloe Grace Moretz, John Malkovich, Edie Falco, Helen Hunt, Charlie Day and C.K. In light of the recent sexual misconduct allegations against the Newton-raised comedian, release of the controversial comedy has been pulled — both domestically and internationally.

Hopefully, Byrne has better luck with “Instant Family.” Paramount’s success with “Daddy’s Home 2,” which raked in almost $30 million its opening weekend, could be a good omen for the upcoming project.

“Instant Family” will be produced by Anders, John Morris, Wahlberg and Steve Levinson. The team plans to starting filming next year.

We’re keeping our fingers crossed that, because Wahlberg is reuniting with his “Daddy’s Home” team, the whole gang might be keen to shoot the flick in Massachusetts, too.
