This little thing is absolute joy, and I haven't been able to put it down since I opened the box. I'd most certainly classify it as a toy, however. You can't sync it with anything else, the looping is fairly constrained, the range of sounds is relatively small, and it *only* runs on batteries.

Still, it's really easy to make really satisfying little grooves, and the built-in speaker sounds absolutely terrific. A relatively small price tag for a huge amount of fun.

It’s a toy but it’s also a joy. Tap out a beat, add some bass. It’s easy to re-record and mess around. As a mediocre drummer the Stylophone Beat makes me sound like I know what I’m doing. The price is great and the features are appropriate for that price point. A version with more sounds and recording capabilities would be nice but this is fun and easy.

I wish they would've put some better samples of acoustic and maybe linn drum too. I don't like the beatbox option at all, toss that out. But for my intended purposes it works as an upgrade to a metronome click whilst jamming on guitar on the couch. Instructions are kinda hard to understand, so watch the YouTube video n save yourself time! All n all, I still think it's cool for what it is, and worth the purchase. You CAN definitely put some cool beats together with a synth bass line on the go. I think that's the best thing ever to help inspire ideas, or just keep you occupied on a long car ride! .....or both lol. Great on batteries too!

I honestly love this thing. Pick it up throw on some headphones and you can create and endless collage of beats and rhythms.

I hooked it into my pedalboard, gave it some really spacy reverb with a bit of modulation & it honestly sounded about as good as some of my favorite records.

I feel like this is an essential gadget for every musician or anyone who just wants to have fun in a musical way.

This is really great if you don’t expect too much from it. It’s a 2 bar beat box with the ability to overdub a bass line. That’s it.
You can save 4 patterns, but they will be erased when you turn the machine off.
The speaker is nothing special. But it does play back the patterns.

I’d bet good money that these will be used in YouTube lo fi videos in years to come. However, if you’re looking for a full-featured drum machine, you won’t find it here. For $40 it’s really great, though.
