Great Product!
After figuring out how to make my water faucet not leak and I was able to get the timer to work it has been smooth sailing! The directions for setting up the dual timer could have been better. The set up is not the same as the set up for the single timer. Timer works great so far. I have scheduled watering 7 days a week for small intervals for the front and back yard of my house. It is a dual timer but as you can see I made it work with three and eventually I will make it work with four different water hose extensions.

This product is extremely easy and amazing to use!
I tried the B-hyve system and it was total garbage. I am a very tech savvy young man and still was having difficulty even getting it to connect to all its components. It had bugs all throughout its software that drove me absolutely nuts AND the app cost me $10 that I was never refunded.. too nuanced and wouldn’t work. Had to delete the app from my phone and reinstall the entire system to even get it to barely work. Most of the time it wouldn’t even see my WiFi.
So I went with my gut instinct and found something that looked like the people that made it actually care. That’s when I found this gem!
The app is by far the best user experience I could ask for and I am a UX designer. And it’s free! Doesn’t have a weird Pro version for something I’ve already paid for. It took me 5min to set up the app after initially plugging in the Bluetooth to WiFi hub and installing the smart water controller onto the faucet with the plumbers tape that was included.
It’s very responsive and the notifications are nice to have so you can tell if it’s on or not without visiting the app. If I start it manually from the app, it has about a .5 second delay from the moment I push start until the moment it starts.
It also has a smart system that will cancel your daily schedule if it rains or will rain that day. So, drought no-more!
It was pretty easy to get my wife added to the app account so that she and I can manage the same system from anywhere and see when either of use run the water so that we don’t accidentally do it more than we should.
Overall if fits perfectly in the not too much or not enough category. It feel like they really tired not to overwhelm the user and deliver a great product!

The installation was straight froward. I have been using SMART LIFE apps already, so it is not too difficult. Basically, the valve controller is a bluetooth unit and it uses the gateway module to connect it to the home network. You must add the Gateway first into the apps, then add the valve controller under the Gateway portal, as seen in my screen capture. Otherwise, you could have connected the valve controller with bluetooth instead of the home Network. If you add the valve controller into the smart life apps with bluetooth, you will not be able to control the valve controller while you are not within the bluetooth signal range.
I purchased 2 units so far in 2 separate order and the 3rd one is on its way. I tried the first one, it worked. Then I put a 2nd order and received the 2nd unit to tested out the signal coverage to confirm it.. Then I ordered the 3rd unit and I was surprise with the PRICE GOUGING. The unit was already 60% more in value compare with buying it in USA, Canadian always pay more. When i ordered the 3rd unit, the price increased by 40% within 5 days. It made me to rethink if it worth the value. I will put my inputs at the end.
Tips on Installation
1) The valve controller is a blue tooth unit. One Gateway hub can connect multiples bluetooth unit. You may consider to buy the bluetooth model without the the hub, save min 20CAD.
2) The blue tooth signal coverage (with line of sight) is very good. I tested with the valve with around 70 feet away and it works. Without line of sight, around 30 feet and it works.
3) Yes, you can see and control the valve with Alexia, but I am not able to use the voice command to control them. I tried the keywords "turn on", "switch on" and "activate", all failed.
My inputs on this:
The valve controller interface on the Smart Life apps is straight forward. I have been using it only for a few days.
I think if your irrigation system is soaker tube or drip system, I feel the regular digital timer is good enough, the price to pay for having remote control is too much.
Because I am using Well water for the lawn sprinklers, I do not want the water to strain the surface in a windy day while I am away. That is the main reason to have remote control on these sprinklers. If I am home, I just put delay on the digital timer on site.
If you have no concern on surface strain from the lawn sprinklers in a windy day, I feel the digital timer is good enough in comparison on the PRICE GOUGING on the valve controller. That is my opinion.
