"Package Need to Knows"

If you are just learning or someone who rides seasonally this package will enhance your limited time on the mountain. The properties of this snowboard shape are designed to make snowboarding more effective and smooth. Please note, our recommended size chart is shown above. It is important to note that if your size recommendation falls in between two different sizes, you should size up as a beginner and size down if you are more advanced. A child using our smaller sizes will do best if they meet the parameters of the size chart. Keep in mind that choosing a larger size for a child will help promote better turns and give them a snowboard to grow into.

Correct Method To Unlatch Your "STAUBER Dyna" Binding Buckles

Snowboard bindings instructions, snowboard illustration, Snowboarding

Snowboard bindings instructions, snowboard illustration, Snowboarding

Snowboard bindings instructions, snowboard illustration, Snowboarding

Correct: Left Hand, Left Foot/ Right Hand, Right Foot

Using this method to unbuckle your bindings will put your hand in the "correct" orientation to release the lever smoothly.

  1. When it's time to unbuckle your left bindings, reach down with your left hand.
  2. When it's time to unbuckle your right binding, reach down with your right hand

Correct: Use Thumb to Engage Release Lever

In this position, engage the release lever using your Thumb.

  1. Put your four fingers on the strap and your thumb on the release lever
  2. Push down on the release lever and use your four fingers to pull the strap back as the release lever is engaged with your thumb.

Correct: Press Release Lever Back Using Your Thumbs

This is a close up illustration of the thumb engaging the green highlighted release lever.

  1. The lever was designed to be used with your thumb to properly unbuckle your bindings.
  2. This is to prevent the straps from loosening during your runs down the mountain.

Wrong Method To Unlatch Your "STAUBER Dyna" Binding Buckles

Snowboard binding removal instructions, Snowboard bindings instructions, Snowboarding

Snowboard binding removal instructions, Snowboard bindings instructions, Snowboarding

Snowboard binding removal instructions, Snowboard bindings instructions, Snowboarding

Wrong: Left Hand, Right Foot/ Right Hand, Left Foot

Using this method to unbuckle your bindings will put your hand in the "wrong" orientation to release the lever smoothly.

  1. Avoid reaching down to your binding buckle using the opposite hand as foot.
  2. Using the opposite hand will encourage you to use your index finger edge to release the buckle.
  3. Using your Index Finger edge will most likely slip or cause the release lever to stick to the snow build up.

Wrong: Using The Outer Edge of your Index Finger

In this position, you can see the index finger is trying to engage the release lever while the remaining four fingers are not supporting the strap.

  1. When using the edge of your index finger to release the lever you are likely to slip off the lever or press the lever "in" as opposed to "down."
  2. Without the support of your other four fingers to lift the strap, the strap will require more effort to be released.

Wrong: Press Release Lever Back Using your Index Finger

This is a close up illustration showing the edge of the index finger engaging the red highlighted release lever.

  1. Our binding buckles were not designed to be used this way.
  2. The edge of your index finger is likely to slip off considering the snow build up and lack of surface contact.
  3. To properly release your binding buckles please see the correct method in the above illustration.

I've been snowboarding for ~10 years and decided this was the year I wasn't going to pay for another rental. Having left things to the last minute, my purchase criteria were: quick delivery, nice graphic, economical but reliable. Stauber nailed it: I'm 6'2, 220lbs and went with the 158 inch board. I had a great ride and looking forward to taking it out again. Very impressed with the board, the feel and really like its matte finish. The bindings do the job and were initially easy to setup. After doing a few runs though, I decided to adjust one of the straps and found one of the adjustment eyes/holes (the one I needed) on the strap was slightly misaligned which resulted in difficulty threading the screw through it. I got it back in so I could continue snowboarding but damaged the screw head in the process. After getting back I reached out to Stauber to get a replacement screw which are unique because they have hinged covers. My intention was to have someone slightly stretch the rubber strap enough to compensate for the misalignment so I could get the screw in straight, but in addition to replacement screws, Stauber immediately sent new straps too! Now it all fits together no problem. Really good customer service, thanks! Very happy with the purchase and recommend to others.

So I had approx. 2 days of experience snowboarding when I decided I enjoyed it more than skiing and took the plunge. In summary, this is a great and forgiving board and is an excellent value for the money.

I am 6' and 180lbs and purchased the 158" board. I think it was the best size for a beginner of my dimensions since it is relatively easy to turn yet you can still pickup decent speed without too much reverb. When actually boarding, I noticed a number of times where I thought to myself "I probably should have caught an edge", but I think the way the board is shaped creates more leeway and time to correct yourself before catching an edge. Not to say you can't catch an edge, but it is more difficult to do especially compared to rental boards. It doesn't mean that you won't fall... but your falls will be a lot easier to handle with the board slipping out from under you on turns vs. doing flips and landing really hard.

Bindings were acceptable. I noticed some squeaking later in the trip which irritated me, but that could happen with any bindings. Word to the wise - do not rest your board on your boot on the lift like I am in the photo without precautions. The sharpness of the board ended up cutting up my right boot (which I consider my fault so I'm not holding it against the board).

I believe this is as good a beginner board as any, and with the convenience of amazon (2 day shipping), it can't be beat. It really is a steal of a deal for all that you get considering any decent beginner set up at a Ski shop will set you back ~$500.

I have been snowboarding for about 10 years now, and recently bought this board as my first personally owned equipment (as opposed to renting each year). This board has done extremely well despite the beating I have given it. After multiple uses (I have now ridden it for around 10 full days of boarding total), there is only slight (expected) wear on the edge and surface. The flex of the board holds up against the most sturdy of trees- and I found a few.

The only issue I have had with the equipment is with the bindings. After installing just how I wanted (it comes with a setup guide and recommended angles, for those not accustomed to putting on your own bindings), I took it out for its first run. After about 10 hours of riding, I began to lose some mobility on turns. As it turned out, the screws holding the bindings onto the board had gotten water in them, and began to loosen. Thus, the binding started to turn with my foot, and led to a nice crash or two. The problem was fixed by simply tightening the screws back with a screwdriver, but this problem persisted (and still persists), and had to be retightened at the end of each day. Note: this issue is seen in a lot of binding setups, and some more experienced boarders told me to try screw tape to help keep the melted snow out of the screw holes. I have not had the chance to try this yet, but I believe it will solve this issue.

Overall, this board is a great purchase for those that aren't incredibly picky about board perfection. For the price point, this equipment is very competitive in quality, and the lesser known brand name has held up to my tests. The rocker/camber style is great for beginners and experienced riders alike, and the sharp edges seem to hold longer than I expected. A good waxing may be needed soon after purchase, but the factory wax is acceptable for the first week or two. Happy riding, that sweet sweet pow is calling your name.

I'm new to snowboarding and hesitant to invest hundreds, even a thousand plus in new gear, but definitely didn't want to continue renting equipment. I found Stauber's Summit package but wasn't sure of the best sizing. There are tons of sizing recommendations based on height, weight, style, experience, etc. online, making it very confusing. Some say go shorter, some say go longer as a newbie and after initially ordering a kit, I asked a question and got a very fast response from the Stauber team indicating I should go a bit shorter.
I received the board/binding kit and it's incredibly easy to set up, aside from understanding the best binding positioning. The (L) binding size fits my size 11 boots perfectly and the quality feels great. The design is solid and appealing. It took about 1 week to arrive.
After a long day on the slopes, I did notice slight delamination and a crack on the nose of the board. I reached out to Stauber's support team with pictures, received a very quick response, and have been shipped a replacement board. The customer service response was exceptional.
For a beginner looking to get on the slopes and learning snowboarding, this is a great option.
