I've got a small workshop in my garage but this has been an exceptionally cold winter and I was looking for a relatively inexpensive way to heat my work area. I'm happy to say that Mr. Heater does a great job!
It arrived yesterday and today was my "trial run". I added the extension guard that was included because I trust the Canadian government's safety recommendations. As much as I tried, I couldn't find any kerosene so I decided to get 5 gallons of diesel from my local gas station. I did see that some of the "box stores" listed it on their websites but the price was horrendous!
I was concerned about the potential smoke/smell when I first turned it on, so I placed it just outside the garage door and hit the switch. By the way, you're going to need to dedicate an extension cord to this heater because the plug has a very short length - maybe 4". I used one of my shorter outdoor extension cords (grounded). There wasn't any smoke or awful diesel smell - just lots of heat! The blower is a bit louder than I thought it would be but I can just turn the music up to compensate. When I started the heater, it was 44 degrees in the garage. After 10 minutes, it was 62 degrees - and climbing! I placed the unit on the concrete floor and made sure there wasn't anything combustible near it or in the path of the heat while it was running or cooling down.
I'm very pleased with my purchase and just need to get more diesel to replace what I used to fill the tank. By the way, I used a battery operated transfer pump to get the fuel out of the 5-gallon container into the heater's tank and it worked perfectly - no heavy lifting!

Unbox, filled with Diesel 2, plugged in and. hit the switch. Toasty in less that 10 minutes in a 400 Sq Ft poorly sealed workshop. After running for 10 minutes, outside was touchable on top of the tube. Could rest hand on it. Added additional rubber feet on underside of fuel tank to keep from scuffing the paint up. Only had to screw on the carry handle. No assembly otherwise. Use common sense in closed areas. Invest in a Monoxide detector. Combustion is clean but why take chances.
