I decided to use the Horticultural Lava Rock instead of the costly PON product as a substrate for my tropical plants. The pebbles are small, with a nice color combination because of the lava rock, maifanitum stones, pumice and zeolite. There is no fertilizer and you will have to rinse the pebbles to wash away the fine dirt on the stones. My plants have adjusted and are growing well. Definitely a good value for its price and has performed as expected.

Wow is all I can say!! My succulents loved when I replaced their soil. One of my succulents was not doing so well that its leaves were shriveling up. Once I replaced it, I checked the next day, that SAME LEAF wasn't shriveled it was nice and supple. So don't hesitate to buy it. The con I can say is I wish it was a bigger quantity. But for the value and quality 10/10 will be buying again.

Works perfectly for my cactus. Mix with 10% to 20% soil or worm castings. And you’re high mineral cactus will love it. Can you mix you’re own for cheaper yes but I’m lazy and I don’t feel like it. Wash first so it doesn’t turn solid at the bottom of you’re pot.
