Like everyone, I read the reviews about assembly and thought twice about buying. I planned a full day of time on a Saturday. The night before I got all the pieces out and read the instructions. My thought was it was well made and packaged very well. The instructions left a lot to be desired. they did try at least but they stink. All the parts and fasteners were in the box. I have a good aptitude for figuring out things and a lot of tools. Basic tools are very helpful, socket set, pliers, screwdrivers, just don’t rely on what they supply or it will be 5 times harder than necessary and frustrating. BTW, very little YouTube videos out there to help. For this bike, what you can find is not relevant. My advice, the bike is solid and worth the effort, but be sensible in your expectations of how long it will take. I took 4 hours, with breaks. I can do a second one now in 1 hour I bet.
Some notes:
— The hardest part to me was wrapping the chain properly. Study the picture for the most help of how it routes around and over the crank and rear gears.
— The 1st gear is the largest gear sprocket. 7 th is the smallest. Nearing the end when you make final adjustments you’ll need to know this in order to set the chain de- railer into proper position. It’s not noted well where the adjustment screws are, but there’s a (+) screw and a (-) screw on the de railer. That’s the fine tune.
— The tires will most likely be flat out of the box. That should be no surprise.
— The instructions show a separate parts bag. That’s not correct. I found all fasteners were in the part to be attached. I just unscrewed them out, assembled the piece, then properly screwed them down.
— NOTE, do not snug up all screws or bolts or nuts until all is assembled, only then tighten it all very well.
— It’s not a $2,500 French touring bike. It is what it is and better than I expected for the price.
