You can now get the revamped McDonald’s hamburgers nationwide.
After announcing changes in April, the chain said the upgraded hamburgers are now available nationwide, drafting the classic character Hamburglar to promote the change. The burger remake is the first major change since 2018 when McDonald’s transitioned its Quarter Pounder with cheese to fresh cooked-to-order beef and removed artificial flavors, colors and preservatives from its burger lineup, Nation’s Restaurant News reported.

The latest move revamps McDonald’s classic hamburger, cheeseburger, double cheeseburger, McDouble burger and Big Mac sandwiches with softer, toasted buns, melted cheese, fresher tomatoes and lettuce and caramelized onions. McDonald’s will also be putting six patties instead of eight on its grill at one time. With fewer patties, the auto-cooking mechanism will apply less pressure, restaurant executives said, leading to a bigger, juicier burger.
“We found that small changes, like tweaking our process to get hotter, meltier cheese and adjusting our grill settings for a better sear, added up to a big difference in making our burgers more flavorful than ever,” Chef Chad Schafer, Senior Director of Culinary Innovation, McDonald’s USA, said in a release when the change was announced.
The revamped burgers were first introduced in Australia, Canada and Belgium before coming to a handful of larger U.S. cities.
