2015-2016
Melissa Baker recorded a 2-2 singles mark in her junior season...Her victories came against Boise State and UC Riverside...Baker posted an 11-9 doubles record in dual matches...Played primarily with Stephanie Yamada at No. 2 spot in the doubles lineup...Went 11-7 when teamed with Yamada, including 10-6 at No. 2...Baker and Yamada helped UCSB claim the doubles point in the NCAA Tournament victory over Kansas with a 6-3 victory over Anastasiya Rychagova and Smith Hinton.

2014-2015
In her sophomore season, Baker recorded a 16-9 overall singles record and a 13-13 doubles record. Baker was a staple to the Gauchos lineup, playing up and down the doubles lineup as well as the bottom half of the singles lineup. She was essential to many close matches, inlcuding her match clinching win over CSUN's Ki Kim, who had only lost one match for the Matadors all season. 

2013-2014
Baker went 6-11 overall, 3-6 in singles at the No.4, No.5, and No.6 positions. She also went 4-9 in doubles alongside Priscila Garcia, Stacy Yam, April Scatliffe, and Kaiulani Boyer.

Baker attended Thousand Oaks High School in Thousand Oaks, Calif...Scholar Athlete all four years...Ranked First team doubles her Freshman year...Won leauge doubles tournament in the Marmonte Leauge Title her Freshman, Junior and senior year...Was CIF finalist in doubles her Junior year and CIF Semifinalist in doubles her Senior year...Ranked first team singles her Sophmore, Junior and Senior years...Ended her high school tennis career by being awarded MVP & Sportsmanship for the Marmonte Leauge.

Melissa Baker is daughter of Robert Baker and Mia de Leon...Was an AP scholar and graduated in the top 7% academically of her grade in high school... Favorite movies include James Bond, Hunger Games, Gladiator and Up...Favorite Novels are Divergent series, Angels and Demons series and the Hunger Games series...Hobbies she enjoys are skiing, hiking, wakeboarding, hanging out with friends and going to the beach...Favorite Athletes are Navak Djokovic, Serena Williams, Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer...In the future she aspires to go to medical school to become a doctor. Melissa is proud to be a Gaucho because of how strong UCSB athetically as well as academically. She loves the sense of community felt on the campus and knows hat someone always has her back and is willing to listen here.
