Paola Navone was born in Turin in 1950. She studied architecture and went to Milan to work as a designer. By working with artists and designers, she got to know different styles and techniques. Her designs are an international mix of styles. Inspired by the everlasting curiosity for materials, shapes and structures, she combines different styles to an extraordinary design. For Karman, Paola Navone designed the "Bibendum" series, among others.

Karman designer Paola Navone

Paola Navone was born in Turin in 1950. She studied architecture at the Polytechnic University of Turin. The designer and architect lives in Milan and creates highly stimulating, avant-garde works from there. She is a "rebel" who thinks worldly and expresses this in her designs.

After her studies, she was not enthusiastic about traditional architectural works and gave her attention to radical and global movements. Since 1974 she has worked with Alessandro Medini, Ettore Sottsass and Andrea Branzi in the Alchimia design group.

In the 1980s, Navone launched her solo career, thanks to participating in and winning a design competition. in 1988 she developed the "Mondo" initiative with Alessi and Giulio Cappelini. She gave countless lectures in Italian design institutes and worked as a consultant in the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand for the World Bank and UNIDO (United Nations Industrial Development Organization).

Until 2000, she was constantly travelling between Italy and Asia, especially Hong Kong, to increase her client list. Since 1998 she has been Art Director for Gervasoni, where she has created almost all the collections herself. She was also named Designer of the Year in 2000 by the German magazine Architektur & Wohnen.
