Description
The Celestial Pearl Danio (Danio margaritatus) also known as the Galaxy Rasbora and CPD is a beautiful little nano fish that looks very much like a trout. They originate from Myanmar and North Thailand and grow to about 2.4cm.
They have a beautiful blue body with orange-red along the top and bottom of the body and fins but most striking is the red spotted pattern along the body contrasting with the dark blue which is where they get the name Galaxy Rasbora.
They can handle a fairly wide range of PH from 6.6 up to 7.8 but would be most comfortable at around 7.0. They will tolerate both hard and soft water and do best at a lower temperatures of around 72 -76°F (22-24°C).
They like to swim at the mid level of the tank and will take some crushed flake but love baby brine shrimp and also microworms and daphnia.
CPD’s are best kept in a group of 6-10 fish.
