Celebrity Parents Steven Tyler: Being There for the Birth of My Grandson 'Was a Moment of a Lifetime' "When I got the call I immediately dropped everything and went to the airport to get on the next available flight," the Aerosmith frontman told PEOPLE By Staff Author Updated on December 3, 2020 12:47AM EST When Steven Tyler got word that his daughter Liv had gone into labor over a month ahead of schedule, he hopped on a plane to race to her side. “When I got the call that Liv was going into labor, after crying like a baby myself, I immediately dropped everything and went to the airport to get on the next available flight,” the Aerosmith frontman, 66, told PEOPLE Friday in a statement later posted to his Facebook page. Still, the rockstar grandfather cut it pretty close — but ended up making it just in time! “When I landed I kept calling my daughter Mia, who was already helping Liv, and she kept giving me minute-by-minute updates… ‘HURRY THE BABY IS COMING!’ ” Tyler writes. “I made it RIGHT in time before my second grandson entered this world. So much love in this pic.” Liv, 37, and her boyfriend — sports manager and agent David Gardner — welcomed another boy on Wednesday, PEOPLE confirmed exclusively with a rep for The Leftovers actress. “He’s healthy, and everyone is very happy,” the a rep said at the time. Their new son arrived six weeks early, a source added.
