Zach Galifianakis debuted his dramatic weight loss Saturday at the red carpet screening of “Birdman” at the New York Film Festival’s closing night.

The “Hangover” actor, 45, hasn’t made any public appearances in more than a year.

He walked the red carpet in a gray suit complete with a blue shirt and tie. Galifianakis’ hair was long and curly and the star maintained his beard.

He joked with E! News about his weight loss, saying he’s “dying” and that his suit jacket is a “ladies [size] 50.”

Earlier in the day, Galifianakis explained his hiatus from the spotlight. “Being a celebrity is s—t — it’s dumb and I’m not interested in it,” Galifianakis said, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

“I like to be an actor, and that’s it,” he continued. “The blurred lines are, I think, manmade. I think celebrity is a manmade thing, it’s not innate in us, we have people telling us, ‘We should pay attention to these people,’ for all the wrong reason, their personal lives and whatnot … I’d rather just do my work and go home and watch Lifetime.”

He later told THR that the idea of celebrity is “confusing” to him. “They oversell it like we’re curing cancer, you know what I mean?” he asked. “I just think it can be gross sometimes, the way Hollywood congratulates itself all the time.”
