Bellagio Adventures

It’s impossible to visit Bellagio and not be captivated by the picturesque streets packed with boutiques, cafes, and restaurants. The main thoroughfare, Via Garibaldi, winds its way down from the point the town is constructed on to the water below. Located as it is at the confluence of the two arms of Lake Como, this is a fantastic vantage point from which to see the beauty of the lake and the distant Alps.

If you take a stroll down Via Garibaldi, you’ll see that it’s lined with little stores offering everything from authentic Italian ceramics to high-end fashion labels. Several art galleries featuring the work of regional artists may also be found in town.

As you stroll through the town, keep an eye out for the many stunning historic villas and gardens that line the streets. The Villa Melzi Gardens are the most well-known gardens in the area and should not be missed. Sit back, take in the scenery, and admire the garden’s vibrant flower beds and statues in peace. Even though snow-capped mountains are in the distance, palm plants can thrive thanks to the microclimate generated by the Alps as a backdrop.

A stroll or bike ride along the town’s lakefront promenade is a great way to get some fresh air and exercise. When in the area, cyclists should stop by the neighboring Shrine of Madonna del Ghisallo, which is dedicated to the patron saint of cyclists and features a museum dedicated to the sport. The promenade hugs the water’s edge, allowing guests to take in breathtaking panoramas of the lake and the mountains beyond.

Bellagio, with its stunning views, lovely neighborhoods, and lakeside promenade, is an ideal area to stroll about and get to know. While wandering the streets of Bellagio, don’t miss the chance to take in the town’s exceptional location at the confluence of Lake Como’s two arms and the breathtaking vistas of the far mountains.

Taking the cable car to the top of Pigno, a mountain overlooking Bellagio, is another well-liked excursion. At the top of the mountain, where the cable car drops you down, you may take in stunning views of the lake and the surrounding mountains or have a picnic or a leisurely stroll. Walk up (you can do it), have lunch and a drink of wine, and then take the cable car back down for some workout.
