10 Craft Ideas To Do With Barbie Coloring Pages

Try one of these inventive craft ideas with your child’s Barbie coloring pages.

1. Create a Beautiful Backing for a Hand Mirror

This craft idea is a terrific way to preserve a Barbie coloring page to enjoy for a long time. From a discount store or novelty shop, buy a hand mirror.

Pink is a great color for this project, but any color mirror will work. Once the page is colored, it can be laminated or sprayed with clear acrylic paint.

Then, with gorilla glue or another strong adhesive, carefully cut it out in the appropriate shape and attach it to the backside of the mirror.

2. Make a Barbie Diary Cover

Lots of little girls start to keep a diary at some point, so why not have Barbie help them keep their secrets?

For this craft, purchase a plain, lined book in a solid color and scale the coloring page to the size of the book’s front cover.

Once the page is finished, seal it in laminate paper and attach it to the front cover. You can also use Barbie pages to decorate the two inside covers of the diary as well!

3. Handmade Paper Dolls

Barbie fans of all ages will love this craft idea that can be done with various Barbie coloring pages.

Print several pages and cut them out for different variations and colors. Then, take plain sheets of paper, and design different outfits, going as simple or sophisticated as desired.

When cutting them out, create small squares of paper to fold around the Barbie cutout, and your youngster has a new paper doll ensemble.

4. Make a Fancy Barbie Fan

To make a fancy Barbie fan, color the page with bright colors, and consider adding embellishments such as glitter or tiny feathers.

Next, carefully fold the completed page accordion style, ensuring the folds are snug.

Staple the bottom, wrap pink yarn tightly around the base and carefully fan it out. It will look just like a store-bought novelty fan, and with care will last a long time!

5. Line a Treasure Box

To complete this enjoyable craft, make or buy a small box sturdy enough to keep a few precious items.

Color the Barbie page and carefully measure the inside of the box, and cut the page out so that it fits inside snugly, but with no paper left over.

Use rubber cement or a glue stick to glue the page to the bottom of the treasure box.

Put a protective cover on the top of the coloring page, such as laminate paper or even clear tape, to make sure the lining lasts a long time.

6. Create a Barbie Ringbinder

One of the best and easiest ways to preserve a beautiful Barbie coloring page is to use it to make an original Barbie ring binder.

Purchase a pink ring binder with both a front and back pocket for a single sheet of paper.

Finish two Barbie coloring sheets and slide one sheet in each pocket, and the ring binder has just become an authentic Barbie item!

7. Create Handmade Accessories

Kids will love making handmade accessories for Barbie with finished coloring pages.

These can be anything from tiny purses or attache bags, to capes, hats, fans, or even jewelry and perfume bottles.

The coloring page can even be used to create Barbie furniture if you mount it to stiff cardboard first. This craft is truly limited only by your child’s imagination!

8. Muriel for a Barbie Dreamhouse

If your child has one of those giant Barbie dream houses, this craft is a must-do the next time coloring pages are the focus of a play date.

Simply find a wall in the dream house that is relatively bare, and attach the finished coloring page with glue or tape rings.

This creates the illusion of a giant mural, featuring Barbie herself!

9. Pretty up a Wastepaper Can

Lots of girls have a Barbie-themed bedroom, but you probably never thought of trying to make your child’s wastepaper can look more attractive.

However, this is the perfect craft for a finished Barbie coloring page. If the can is pink, it’s even better!

Simply take the finished page, or preferably two, laminate them, and attach them to either side of the can for a trash can that actually looks pretty.
