Finally, Apple is giving us the perfect emoji for basically any event that 2016 has to throw at us.

The company released on Tuesday the first beta version of its iOS 10.2 software update, which includes 72 exciting new emoji. One of the most notable? The glorious facepalm.

Just in time for the election, the facepalm emoji will allow use to accurately portray our frustration, embarrassment and confusion about America's current political predicament without actually speaking.

As you can imagine, the facepalm emoji will look like the updated iOS 10 emoji caricature, with a hand pressed against the head.

In addition to the facepalm, other important additions to the catalog of 1,601 emoji already available include a black heart, a shrug, crossed fingers and a hand taking a selfie.

A myriad of new professions are also being represented in the update, including a scientist, chef, astronaut and teacher.

And perhaps most importantly, the new art style emoji will include delicious-looking additions to the food category. The update will add much-needed variety to our food emoji by including salad, bacon, pancakes and a glass of milk.

Finally, we can live out our dream of adding an avocado emoji to our avocado toast Instagram posts.

Though Apple has not yet announced the official iOS 10.2 release date, the new symbols, which were approved as part of Unicode 9.0 in June 2016, are expected to arrive later this month.
