Types of tests conducted on Concrete for Concrete Quality Check During the construction process, one has to look into every matter so that the construction work turns out the way an individual wants. Quality is an integral aspect of concrete preparation and is to be emphasized while using concrete for construction purposes.

Concrete tests are performed in a concrete laboratory to produce high-quality concrete. Here is the list of tests performed on concrete: 

Air Content: Air content measures the total air content in the sample of fresh concrete. The test does not determine air content accurately as a certain amount of air is lost during transportation, consolidating, placement, and finishing process. Setting time: Setting time is the time of conversion of mixed cement from a fluid state to a solid-state. Air content is of two types into :

1.

Initial Setting Time: The time of elapsing when we pour water to the cement and when the needle of 1mm square fails to Pearce the test block 5mm in depth from the bottom of the mould.

2.

Final Setting Time: The time of elapsing when water is added to the cement making the needle of 1mm square section makes an impression on the test block.

There are various tests which are conducted on hardened concrete: 

Compressive Strength: Compressive strength of concrete cube test gives an idea about the characteristics of concrete.



Tensile Strength: It is the most important property of concrete. It determines the extent and size of cracking in concrete structures. Concrete develops cracks when a tensile force surges beyond tensile strength.



Modulus of elasticity: The ratio of stress is to strain the modulus of elasticity defines applied loads concrete.



Slump tests: The quality of the mixture is tested with the help of the slump test. The tests focus on water is to cement ratio of concrete mix.
