Token Greece Alexander the Great with Fast Quadriga

Alexander III (356 to 323 BC), commonly known as Alexander the Great, was a king of the Ancient Greek kingdom of Macedon. He was born in Pella in 356 BC and succeeded his father Philip II to the throne at the age of twenty. He spent most of his ruling years on an unprecedented military campaign through Asia and northeast Africa, and he created one of the largest empires of the ancient world by the age of thirty, stretching from Greece to northwestern India. He was undefeated in battle and is widely considered one of history's most successful military commanders.

Needless to say, Alexander has plenty of coins with his likeness. His ancient Greek coins can be very valuable. The one below sold for $12000 US dollars in a Heritage auction:

The four-horse chariot on the back is known as a quadriga, and, because the horses are at full gallop, it is also known as a fast quadriga.

However, the subject coin, shown in the upper left, is not a genuine Alexander coin. It is a modern day token, one of many similar types, manufactured as a novelty or gift item. Value is a few US dollars.
